Safe Sport

About Safe Sport

The term ‘Safe Sport’ represents an umbrella of policies, rules, regulations and actions taken within the world of sport to keep athletes, coaches, parents and volunteers safe.

Safe Sport polices can include examples such as requiring background checks of coaching staff, as well as special training for coaches and volunteers.

XCBC is proud to hold itself to the strict Safe Sport standards that govern Nordic Skiing in Canada.

If you have any questions regarding Safe Sport and how it is followed within XCBC please contact Joshua Lohka.

  • Background checks
    • XCBC Coaching Staff are required to provide police information background checks with additional screening for vulnerable sectors.
  • Athlete Training
    • All athletes within XCBC are required to undergo safe sport training to familiarise themselves with the concepts of safe sport, helping them recognize when safe sport procedures are broken.
